Development Stages: Foiled!

I'll admit to being rather proud of this project. We had to make an animation in After Effects, and I mixed both AE and Photoshop to create this animation. Since the file was too big, I couldn't put it on here. Sad day, I know, but maybe I'll stick it on Facebook or something. I dunno....

Anyway, this animation was based off of my sister's cat, Cooper, and basically details his exploits with a candy wrapper. It's a little bit comedic and very stylized. The storyboard pieces are here:

Some was cut out of the final that I think would have been cute, but apparently didn't make sense to my classmates. So it was taken out. Up next we have the character designs.

Admit it, he's adorable. You should see the real Cooper. <3 Moving on, we have the backgrounds that were made for it:

And there we go~ Two of these backgrounds are actually gigantic, but I didn't want to stick them up. So I shrunk them. Eh, what can you do?

That's it for right now. :)

Development Stages: The Lion and the Mouse

Alright, now in all seriousness, I'm attempting to make an official blog this time around. I will still be using my DeviantArt account from time to time, but for the most part, I'm going to try and use this for more exclusive artwork... and so people who know me can see what I've been doing lately.

Now, there are two main projects I did back in my Fall semester. Both are (mostly) finished, but I've yet to upload the final projects on here (coughcough) so you will only be seeing the development work for them both.

Let's start with my Flash animation, The Lion and the Mouse. For those who have read some of Aesop's fables, this is basically a short animation of that story. For those who don't know, Aesop's fables are short stories with a moral at the end of the story. In this case, The Lion and the Mouse is about a mouse who, after getting caught by a lion, pleads for it to be let go, promising to help the lion when it needs it later, and is set free. A little while later, the lion gets caught in a trap, and the mouse comes and saves it by chewing through the ropes. The moral is that any living creature, no matter how small, can make a difference.

Anyway~ Now onto the art. Again, please don't steal! I worked hard on this project for school.

First up we have the storyboards:

Next up is the character designs... minus the mouse, though. >o>;; I accidentally left it on another computer... so I'll upload it later. Promise!

Aaaand, lastly we have the backgrounds that were used in each scene!

To end, let me note that each of these are actually a LOT bigger than what they are on here. For example, the above piece is actually somewhere around 640x480 pixels large.

Sooo, there you go! Sometime later, I'll try to upload the final Flash file, but we'll see. I may or may not get around to doing that.

Welcome to my blog!

Hi~ You've reached the blog of Christina. Here, you will find an assortment of my artwork and updates pertaining to me.

Please be courteous and do not steal or claim any of this as your own. I worked hard on all of it, and I would appreciate having the credit go to me.

For the record, artwork posted here was created from Fall 2010 and on. My DeviantArt account will have a handful more works from before that time, and I would suggest visiting there as well. I tend to bounce between this blog and my Deviant page: rhetoricalwings.deviantart.com

That said, have a look around and thanks for visiting!
